The highly anticipated Local Government elections in Rivers State have been fixed by the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC).
Africa Update can authoritatively report that October 5, 2024, has been fixed for electorates to cast their votes for those who would head the various local government Councils in the oil-rich state.
At a stakeholders meeting on Monday, July 1, at the Commission’s complex, RSIEC chairman Adolphus Enebeli, emphasised that it is time to respond to the calls from stakeholders for the conduct of elections following the end of tenure for the previous local government chairmen and councilors.
